As I promised, I went "big". And even though, as I post, I am simultaneously waiting for a live stream of run 2 in the Alpine Women's Slalom with Mikeala Shiffrin going for gold and while I was painting yesterday, tears streamed down my face at the crushing loss to the Canadiens in women's hockey, this has been a wonderful painting to work on. The majestic Tetons deserve to "go big".
creatures graze amid the lofty rock,
the big sky
rainbows and fast moving clouds are written there
above the jagged peaks
silent snow blankets.
they graze near
the gushing rivers edge
clear, cold and turbulent,
the water plays music
striking chilling chords.
its' slippery liquidness
swirls over the boulders.
they graze in the wide open
wilderness that speaks to the lust
for starry skies and running in the wind,
escaping the sun's profound heat by
slipping into cold Ski Lake.
they roam with others like themselves
not aimlessly, but purposefully seeking
grandeur at every turn,
